203: Why you might be scared to start journaling
Have you really wanted to start journaling because you know it would help your emotional state, your mental health, your self-discovery, but you just can't seem to start? You're not alone. I had a flourishing journaling practice in my youth and then college but in my 20s and 30s couldn't get started again, and I see a lot of folks deal with this too. Sometimes it's perfectionism; sometimes it's fear of what you'll uncover; sometimes it's what I call "journal trauma," where somebody read your journal when you were young or otherwise violated your emotional trust and safety and it's hard to get back to journaling because of that. Tune in for more on this and tips on how to create what I call a "reparative journaling experience" so you can unlock journaling and all its benefits for you once again.
